“God damn, she survived there for 8 years”
マジかよ、彼女はあそこで8年も生き延びたのか。
“I am shocked at the number of timeskips we got in this episode, tho! When the first timeskip happened, I thought Fatima was gonna get more involved with the Khan’s story. But then we timeskip to the day of the death of the Khan, and then skip again when they were finally picking a new leader. Fatima has now lived with the Mongols as long as she was in Tus. That request from Sorghaghtani was also a surprise. I did not expect her to ask Fatima to act as her spy. This is not where I thought this story would go at all!”
それにしても、このエピソードで何度も時間が飛んだことに驚いた！
最初に時間が飛んだときは、ファーティマがカンの物語にもっと深く関わっていくのかと思った。
でもそこからチンギス・カンが亡くなる日まで飛んで、さらに新しい指導者を選ぶところまでまた飛んだ。
ファーティマはもう、トゥースにいたのと同じくらいの時間をモンゴル人のもとで過ごしているんだ。
ソルコクタニの頼みも驚きだった。
まさかファーティマに自分の密偵として動くよう頼むとは思わなかった。
まったく予想していた方向じゃない！
“It was certainly surprising for *this* much of a timeskip, adding fuel to the fire in Sitara’s mission. This covert mission and finding the rare stones seem to be the turning point in her quest to control the Empire. I’m impressed by how the author seems to have really done her research in that comparison between the Muslim method of slaughter and the Mongols’ counterpart. This is the weekly lock of the season for sure”
ここまで大きな時間経過があるのは確かに驚きだったし、シタラの目的にさらに火を注ぐ展開だった。
この秘密任務と珍しい石の発見が、彼女が帝国を操ろうとする道の転機になりそうだ。
イスラムの屠畜方法とモンゴル側のやり方を比較していた場面を見ると、作者が本当にしっかり調べているんだなと感心する。
今期で毎週見るのが確定している作品だ。
“Watching Fatima squeeze that mystery stone out of that intestine(?) felt more satisfying than it had any right to be. Not getting to see if Sorghahtani could sense Fatima’s own revenge plot across that timeskip makes her recruitment of her as a spy that much more striking imo. Can’t tell if she trusts her from the natural closeness built over the years or if she realized they share a common goal.”
ファーティマがあの腸らしきものから謎の石を絞り出す場面、妙に気持ちよくて笑った。
時間経過の間に、ソルコクタニがファーティマ自身の復讐計画に気づいていたのかどうかが描かれなかったからこそ、彼女を密偵として雇う展開がより印象的に見える。
長年の近さから信頼しているのか、それとも二人に共通の目的があると気づいたのか、判断がつかない。
“Ok so going against tradition Tolui actually doesn’t become the emperor? Ogedei the third brother instead has become the emperor, ngl, I kinda did feel he got more focus and was going to be important. I guess not bad idea Tolui doesn’t seem the brightest but his wife Sorghaghtani seems different. She actually wants knowledge but now that she won’t become empress….I wonder why she wants a spy? Does she not agree with this change of emperor as much as Tolui? or maybe she just doesn’t trust Ogedei as much? I do wonder really how strong their brotherly bonds are…”
つまり伝統に反して、トルイは結局皇帝にならないのか？
代わりに三男のオゴタイが皇帝になったんだな。
正直、彼はやけに焦点が当たっていたから重要人物になるとは思っていた。
トルイはそこまで賢そうには見えないし、悪い判断ではないのかもしれない。
でも妻のソルコクタニは違って見える。
彼女は本当に知識を求めているけど、皇后にならない今、なぜ密偵を欲しがるんだろう？
トルイほどこの皇帝交代に納得していないのか？
それともオゴタイをあまり信用していないのか？
兄弟の絆が実際どれくらい強いのか、かなり気になる。

Idk if she’ll get a chance anymore since now she’s being chosen as a spy? Probably to the new Emperor? himself of maybe his wife that we saw earlier? Also that rock valuable but how will it play a role I wonder? Mao Mao might be excited by it cuz I’m think it’s a bezoar? not a cow bezoar but still quite valuable? but anyways idk if the mongols will care too much for it? それにしても、チンギス・カンは本当にもう亡くなったのか。
顔すら見られなかったのに笑。
とにかく、もう8年も経ったのにファーティマ、つまりシタラはまだ本を取り戻せていない。
今度は密偵に選ばれたわけだし、これから機会があるのかも分からない。
たぶん新しい皇帝本人か、前に見た彼の妻のところに行くのかな？
あと、あの石は価値があるみたいだけど、どういう役割を果たすんだろう。
猫猫なら喜びそうだ。
あれは※ベゾアールっぽい気がする。
牛黄ではないにしても、かなり価値はありそう。
とはいえ、モンゴル人がそれをどれくらい気にするのかは分からない。
今後の回収を待つしかなさそうだ。

1話の中で何度も時間が飛ぶとは思わなかった。
肉から血を抜いて食べる理由を、モンゴルのやり方と対比して説明していたのが本当に良かった。
このアニメは本気で素晴らしいし、間違いなく今年のベスト級だ。

この8年間ソルコクタニに仕えてきたシタラ、つまりファーティマの一番本音っぽい反応はたぶんこれ。

この宝石みたいな作品が※クランチロールでたった4.5点なのが理解できない。

“Of course ~~Sitara~~ Fatima asks this right away. Making it sound like the book is worthless *is* one way to potentially get it back… It didn’t work. Oof. Such a pretty landscape shot. lol Them keeping Genghis Khan’s face obscured by sunlight really makes him feel larger than life. For as brief as his screentime was. Ooh, nice shimmering sky. That’s unfortunate. Man, this sounds so wholesome except it’s coming from the guy who ruined ~~Sitara~~ Fatima’s life. What a difference perspective makes. A valuable stone? Hoh…”
そりゃシタラ、いやファーティマはすぐそれを聞くよな。
本には価値がないように聞かせるのも、取り戻すための一つの手ではある。
まあ、うまくいかなかったけど。

景色のカットがめちゃくちゃ綺麗だな笑。
チンギス・カンの顔を日光で隠し続ける演出、短い出番なのに彼をすごく大きな存在に見せている。
おお、空のきらめきもいい。
これはまずいな。
これ、シタラ、いやファーティマの人生を壊した男の口から出ているのでなければ、ものすごく微笑ましい話に聞こえるんだよな。
視点が違うだけでこんなに変わるのか。
価値のある石？ ほう…。
“We’ve jumped ~16 years since we started. How quickly time goes in this story. Which tracks because we seem to be jumping around to major events in history that Fatima is witness to anyway. And one of those shifts just happened with the naming of a new Khan and her getting roped into palace intrigue. And speaking of palace intrigue: if ever she needed to bribe a green haired drug gremlin, that beozar should do the trick.”
物語開始からだいたい16年も飛んでいる。
この作品、時間の流れが本当に早い。
でもファーティマが歴史上の大事件に立ち会う形で進んでいるようだから、それも納得できる。
そしてその大きな変化の一つが、新しいカンの指名と、彼女が宮廷の陰謀に巻き込まれることだった。
宮廷の陰謀といえば、もし※₁緑髪の薬好きオタクを買収する必要があるなら、あの※₂ベゾアールが役に立つはずだ。
※₁：猫猫の事だね(笑)
※₂：ベゾアール石（結石）とは、牛やヤギなどの反芻動物や人間の消化管内で、消化されなかった毛髪や植物繊維が固まってできる異物（胃石）のことです。

深い考察系
“Once again I love seeing the story explore the culture clash between 13th century Iranian and Mongolian cultures through Sitara. As someone not very familiar with either I love learning more about both. I also love how nuanced the portrayal of both cultures continues to be and Sitara continuing to be shown the positives in certain aspects of Mongolian culture such as their animal centric lifestyle, as well as her explaining why certain aspects of Islamic/Iranian culture are the way the are. It’s a small thing but something a lesser writer could’ve easily messed up.”
今回も、シタラを通して13世紀のイラン文化とモンゴル文化の衝突を描いているのを見るのが大好きだ。
どちらにもあまり詳しくない自分にとって、両方について学べるのが本当に面白い。
それに、両文化の描写がずっと繊細なのも好きだ。
シタラは、動物を中心にした生活など、モンゴル文化のある側面にある良さを見せられ続けている。
同時に、イスラムやイラン文化の一部がなぜそうなっているのかを彼女自身が説明している。
小さなことだけど、もっと下手な作者なら簡単に台無しにしていた部分だと思う。
“sorry to go on a bit of an essay here butwhat i really like so far is how nuanced and human the portrayals of all the cultures and characters are. very little if anyone seem to be portrayed unfairly, as backwards or barbaric. the festivities around the khurultai and the great khan’s funeral were not only put to screen beautifully but also hint at a deeper cultural world, one we can briefly see the surface level expressions of but is never explained to us directly in full, and i think that’s really cool! these horse-lords whose conquests put countless innocents in the grave are also capable of being kind, loving and forward-thinking, not just towards their families but also in their rule, while the loving mother figure and family sitara grew up with and misses dearly were also legally her slavemasters.”
ちょっと長文になって申し訳ないけど、今のところ本当に好きなのは、すべての文化やキャラクターの描き方がとても繊細で人間的なところだ。
不当に、遅れているとか野蛮だとか描かれている人物や文化はほとんどないように見える。
※クリルタイの祭りや大カンの葬儀は映像として美しいだけでなく、より深い文化世界を感じさせてくれる。
その表面の表現だけを少し見せてくれて、全てを直接説明しないところがすごくいい！
征服によって数えきれない無辜の人々を墓に送ったこの騎馬の支配者たちは、家族だけでなく統治においても、親切で、愛情深く、先進的であることができる。
一方で、シタラが育てられ、今も恋しく思っている愛情深い母のような存在や家族も、法的には彼女の奴隷主だったんだ。

“there was some discourse on twitter regarding the chinggisids (the immediate family and descendants of genghis khan) being portrayed as somewhat cute, while being violent conquerors in real life, but i would argue that through sitara’s justified anger at her circumstances the show actively prompts you to confront this contradiction! because in real life, and in real history, people often happen to be both”
Twitterでは、チンギス・カンの直系一族や子孫であるチンギス統原理の人々が、現実には暴力的な征服者だったのに、作品内では少し可愛らしく描かれていることについて議論があった。
でも自分は、シタラが置かれた境遇に対する正当な怒りを通して、この作品はその矛盾と向き合うよう視聴者に促していると思う！
なぜなら現実でも、そして実際の歴史でも、人間はしばしばその両方であり得るからだ。
“This was a calm, surprisingly gentle episode. I’ll make sure to wear a safety vest for the next one. I love how, despite the simple art style, you can tell where characters come from by their appeareance. Small details like Shorgagtani lighter skin, Sitara’s hair, the colour of their eyes, subtle changes in their clothing or how men wear their moustaches.”
今回は穏やかで、驚くほど優しいエピソードだった。
次回は安全ベストを着て見ることにする。
シンプルな絵柄なのに、見た目でキャラクターがどこ出身なのか分かるところが好きだ。
ソルコクタニの明るい肌、シタラの髪、目の色、服装の微妙な違い、男性の口ひげの整え方みたいな細かい部分がいい。
“I’ve also begun to unravel some of the symbolysm. The stars represent fate, as does the wheel, which is quite prominent in this episode. The top of a Mongol hut, the astrolabe and other round objects often take their place. The scales are a symbol of justice but also choice. When one side drops so heavily below the other, it indicates an important decision has been made. Selling Sitara as a slave is one example but there must be more I missed since it’s very prominent in the opening. I wonder if there will be some fantastical elements since I’m told The Heike Story does.”
象徴表現も少しずつ読み解けてきた。
星は運命を表しているし、車輪もそうだと思う。
この回ではかなり目立っていた。
モンゴルの天幕の天井、アストロラーベ、その他の丸い物体が、しばしばそれに代わる形で出てくる。
天秤は正義の象徴であると同時に、選択の象徴でもある。
片方が大きく下がるとき、それは重要な決断がなされたことを示している。
シタラが奴隷として売られる場面がその一例だと思うけど、オープニングでもかなり目立つから、自分が見逃しているものが他にもあるはずだ。
※「平家物語」には幻想的な要素があると聞いたので、この作品にもそういう要素があるのか気になっている。

“I dunno if this is a hot take or a cold take but it would be much healthier for Sitara if she just gives up on revenge and tries to live her life in peace and comfort. By no means i am trying to underplay the tragedy of what happened to her, it was tragic that she had to see Fatima and then everyone else die but she is just ONE PERSON who is currently in a SERVANT position (even if servant of a remarkably high ranking person) trying to take revenge against an ENTIRE EMPIRE. She is not just immensely risking her life for a possibly futile endeavor but also keeping her hatred fresh in her mind instead of trying to make peace has to be extremely taxing for her mental well being. But obviously that is not gonna happen and now that she will be spy she might have more chances and i will continue to watch with interest where will the story take us, but i can’t help but feel like it would be much better for Sitara if she tried to let go of her vendetta”
これが熱い意見なのか冷めた意見なのか分からないけど、シタラにとっては復讐を諦めて、平穏で快適な人生を送ろうとする方がずっと健全だと思う。
彼女に起きた悲劇を軽く見ているつもりはまったくない。
ファーティマや他のみんなの死を目の前で見なければならなかったのは、本当に悲劇だった。
でも彼女は一人の人間で、現在は召使いの立場にいる。
たとえ非常に高位の人物に仕えているとしても、彼女が復讐しようとしている相手は帝国全体なんだ。
命を極めて大きな危険に晒しているだけでなく、もしかすると無駄に終わるかもしれない復讐のために、憎しみを心の中で新鮮なまま保ち続けている。
心の平穏を得ようとせず、そうし続けることは、彼女の精神衛生にとってものすごく負担が大きいはずだ。
もちろん、彼女がそうしないことは分かっているし、密偵になった今はチャンスが増えるかもしれない。
これから物語がどこへ向かうのか、自分は興味深く見続ける。
でもやっぱり、シタラが怨恨を手放そうとする方が、彼女にとってはずっと良いのではないかと感じてしまう。
“I really love how this anime shows the different cultures, like how different people slaughter animals. By the way, it’s permissible for Muslims to consume dead meat or other haram food if they don’t have a choice. So after all the hype about Tolui, Ogedei is the new Khan? I guess that makes sense. Tolui didn’t seem like the perfect fit. Usually the oldest is the first in line of succession. But it seems in Mongol culture it’s the youngest. The Great Khan broke this tradition by choosing his 3rd son. It’s probably the right choice. He was smart enough to build an empire. So he should be able to choose the best successor.”
このアニメが、動物の屠畜方法の違いのように、異なる文化を描いているところが本当に好きだ。
ちなみに、選択肢がない場合、ムスリムが死肉やその他のハラームな食べ物を口にすることは許される。
それで、トルイにあれだけ焦点が当たった後で、オゴタイが新しいカンになるのか？
まあ納得はできる。
トルイは完璧な適任者には見えなかった。
普通は長男が継承順位の最初に来るものだけど、モンゴル文化では末子がそうらしい。
大カンは三男を選ぶことでその伝統を破った。
おそらく正しい選択だったんだろう。
帝国を築くほど賢かったのだから、最良の後継者を選ぶこともできたはずだ。
“Time for a bumpy political ride for Sitara/Fatima. I’m curious what’s going to happen with the bezoar and Fatima’s revenge. I don’t blame Fatima for rightfully holding anger at her enslavement. But it must be harrowing to see all the little ways she is losing touch with her culture, from her fellow enslaved Persians warming up to Mongol life to her new nutrition intake so different from her youth. I wonder what else happened with forced assimilation. I imagine the Persians still spoke to each other in their native language, but was there any punishment for Persian slaves who practiced Islam or spoke Persian in public? Fatima getting caught in her prayer wasn’t made that big a deal, but are Muslims still allowed to do their five(?) daily prayers (or maybe it was three or four)?”
シタラ、つまりファーティマにとって、波乱の政治の旅が始まる時間だ。
ベゾアールとファーティマの復讐がどうなるのか気になる。
奴隷にされたことに対してファーティマが怒りを抱くのは当然だし、責める気にはなれない。
でも、同じく奴隷となったペルシア人たちがモンゴルの生活に馴染み始めたり、幼い頃とはまったく違う食事を取るようになったりして、彼女が自分の文化から少しずつ切り離されていく様子を見るのはつらいはずだ。
強制的な同化として、他に何が起きていたのか気になる。
ペルシア人同士はまだ母語で話していたと思うけど、イスラムを実践したり、公の場でペルシア語を話したりした奴隷には罰があったのだろうか？
ファーティマが祈っているところを見つかった時は大きな問題にはならなかったけど、ムスリムはまだ一日五回の礼拝を許されているのだろうか？
もしかすると三回か四回だったかもしれないけど。
感動・共感系
“Similarly I love how a series that is ultimately about Sitara seeking revenge on the Mongols continues to show that all the people involved are fundamentally just regular people who can be kind to others and love their families. It makes Sitara having to constantly remind herself of what they took from her and focus on her hatred hit even harder for me. Ultimately she kind of *has* to hate them or she feels like she’s doing a disservice to the people they took from her and she’ll truly have nothing left.”
同じように、この作品は最終的にはシタラがモンゴル人へ復讐しようとする物語なのに、関わる人々が根本的には普通の人間で、他人に優しくできたり家族を愛したりできる存在として描かれ続けているところが好きだ。
だからこそ、シタラが自分から奪われたものを常に思い出し、憎しみに意識を向け続けなければならないことが、より重く響く。
結局、彼女は彼らを憎まなければならないようなものなんだ。
そうしなければ、奪われた人々に対して不義理をしているように感じてしまうし、本当に何も残らなくなってしまうから。
“It’s heartbreaking to see Sitara (Fatima) having to serve the people who caused her tragedy for years without accomplishing anything. Tolui and Sorghaghtani are dangerous couple because they know what the Mongol Empire needs to continue rising.”
シタラ、つまりファーティマが、自分の悲劇を引き起こした人々に何年も仕えながら、何も成し遂げられずにいるのを見るのは胸が痛い。
トルイとソルコクタニは危険な夫婦だ。
なぜなら、モンゴル帝国がさらに上昇し続けるために何が必要なのかを理解しているから。
“I fully get Sitara’s rage at Princess Sorghaghtani, she’s oblivious to the fact what the people of Tus have been subjected to and have suffered. Especially Sitara whose family directly died due to her desire to get that book,”
ソルコクタニ妃に対するシタラの怒りは完全に理解できる。
彼女はトゥースの人々が何を受け、どれほど苦しんだのかに気づいていない。
特にシタラの場合、あの本を欲した彼女の望みのせいで、家族が直接死んでいるんだから。
“Fatima reining her rage and it would have been easier for her revenge if Sorghaghtani were ignorant like her husband but deep down, she feels like a kindred spirit to her. Still, she being oblivious (or accepting) to how the book is procured still rub the wrong spot. Tolui is just happy to be relieved of his duties while still fulfilling his father wish. Yeeahh this wont turned well. Kinda makes sense now why Fatima shown appeared more with Ogedei’s wife.”
ファーティマが怒りを抑えているのがつらい。
もしソルコクタニが夫のように無知だったなら、彼女の復讐はもっと楽だったはずだ。
でも心の奥では、彼女を自分と似た存在だと感じているようにも見える。
それでも、あの本がどうやって手に入れられたのかに対してソルコクタニが無自覚、あるいは受け入れていることは、やっぱり引っかかる。
トルイは父の望みを果たしつつ、責務から解放されてただ喜んでいる。
うん、これはうまくいかないやつだ。
ファーティマがオゴタイの妻と一緒に映ることが多かった理由も、今なら少し分かる気がする。

“Lots of time going by. Fatima has been there for so long she’s getting sucked into imperial politics. I wonder if and when the united front between the brothers is going to openly break.”
かなりの時間が過ぎた。
ファーティマはあそこに長くいすぎたせいで、帝国政治に引きずり込まれつつある。
兄弟たちの結束がいつ、そして本当に表立って崩れるのか気になる。
“Sitara (now Fatima) had now spent as long under Sorghaghtani as she did under the original Fatima. Poor girl had to play the ever smiling and dutiful servant for all those years while harbouring immense anger must’ve been extremely taxing on her. Even worse, that she hadn’t found the opportunity to reclaim the *Elements*. To make things worse, Sorghaghtani had just assigned her on a covert mission. She’s even further from her goal. Meanwhile, was surprised how readily Tolui ceded the rulership especially after he’s had a taste of it for a year or two. Thought there’d be some friction and he’d hand it over with reluctance and/or harbour some grudge towards Ogedei. He admitted it’s for the greater good and he’s not even too bothered with losing power, saying that he’s freer now.”
シタラ、今のファーティマは、元のファーティマのもとで過ごしたのと同じくらいの時間を、ソルコクタニのもとで過ごしたことになる。
かわいそうな子だ。
強烈な怒りを抱えながら、何年もの間ずっと笑顔で忠実な召使いを演じなければならなかったなんて、ものすごく負担だったはずだ。
さらに悪いことに、彼女はまだ「原論」を取り戻す機会を見つけられていない。
その上ソルコクタニから秘密任務まで任されて、彼女の目的からはさらに遠ざかってしまった。
一方で、トルイが一年か二年ほど統治を味わった後なのに、あんなにあっさり支配権を譲ったことには驚いた。
もっと摩擦があって、渋々渡したり、オゴタイに恨みを抱いたりするのかと思っていた。
彼は大局のためだと認めていたし、権力を失うこともあまり気にしていないようで、今は自由になったと言っていた。
“Wow, Sorghaghtani is way smarter than I expected. I thought she just wanted to get the book for the sake of owning the book and had really no idea about its true value. I think this makes it worse for Fatmia since Sorghaghtani does intend to use the book for the right reasons, and now she has to play along.”
うわ、ソルコクタニは思っていたよりずっと賢い。
彼女はただ本を所有したいだけで、本当の価値は分かっていないのだと思っていた。
でもこれはファーティマにとって余計につらいことだと思う。
ソルコクタニはその本を正しい理由で使うつもりでいて、ファーティマは今、その流れに合わせて動かなければならないんだから。

海外の反応、いかがでしたか？
第4幕では、シタラがソルコクタニのもとで長い時間を過ごし、憎しみを抱えたまま従順な側近を演じ続けていたことに、多くの海外ファンが衝撃を受けていました。
また、チンギス・カンの崩御、オゴタイの即位、そしてソルコクタニによる密偵任務という政治的な展開にも、驚きと考察が集まっていました。
特に今回は、復讐を抱え続けることの重さ、文化の衝突と同化、人間の矛盾した二面性についての深いコメントが目立ちました。
少し深掘りしてみましょう。
哲学から見るアニメ『天幕のジャードゥーガル』
「復讐を手放す静けさ」長春真人（丘処機）の清静無為と養生説
“I dunno if this is a hot take or a cold take but it would be much healthier for Sitara if she just gives up on revenge and tries to live her life in peace and comfort. By no means i am trying to underplay the tragedy of what happened to her, it was tragic that she had to see Fatima and then everyone else die but she is just ONE PERSON who is currently in a SERVANT position (even if servant of a remarkably high ranking person) trying to take revenge against an ENTIRE EMPIRE. She is not just immensely risking her life for a possibly futile endeavor but also keeping her hatred fresh in her mind instead of trying to make peace has to be extremely taxing for her mental well being. これが熱い意見なのか冷めた意見なのか分からないけど、シタラにとっては復讐を諦めて、平穏で快適な人生を送ろうとする方がずっと健全だと思う。
彼女に起きた悲劇を軽く見ているつもりはまったくない。
ファーティマや他のみんなの死を目の前で見なければならなかったのは、本当に悲劇だった。
でも彼女は一人の人間で、現在は召使いの立場にいる。
たとえ非常に高位の人物に仕えているとしても、彼女が復讐しようとしている相手は帝国全体なんだ。
命を極めて大きな危険に晒しているだけでなく、もしかすると無駄に終わるかもしれない復讐のために、憎しみを心の中で新鮮なまま保ち続けている。
心の平穏を得ようとせず、そうし続けることは、彼女の精神衛生にとってものすごく負担が大きいはずだ。
もちろん、彼女がそうしないことは分かっているし、密偵になった今はチャンスが増えるかもしれない。
これから物語がどこへ向かうのか、自分は興味深く見続ける。
でもやっぱり、シタラが怨恨を手放そうとする方が、彼女にとってはずっと良いのではないかと感じてしまう。
このコメントは、長春真人こと丘処機の思想である「清静無為」と「養生説」と深く重なります。
長春真人はチンギス・カンに招かれて西征中の彼と会見し、不殺生や命を養うこと、つまり養生の重要性を説いた全真教の道士・思想家です。
シタラはトゥースで大切な人々を奪われ、ファーティマの名を背負いながらモンゴル帝国の内側で復讐の機会をうかがっています。
しかし、その復讐心は彼女の生きる力であると同時に、彼女自身の心身をすり減らす炎でもあります。
コメントが指摘しているのは、巨大な帝国にたった一人で挑むことの危険だけではありません。
憎しみを忘れないために、毎日自分の傷を開き続けなければならない精神的負担です。
長春真人の清静無為は、余計な欲望や作為を削ぎ落とし、心身の静けさを保つことを重視します。
その視点から見ると、シタラの復讐は正当な怒りであると同時に、彼女の生命そのものを削る執着でもあります。
もちろん物語としてのシタラは、その炎を手放すことなどできません。
しかしだからこそ、彼女の復讐の道は、外の帝国との戦いであると同時に、内なる憎しみが自分を焼き尽くしてしまわないようにする戦いでもあるのです。
「征服者であり、家族を愛する人間でもある」チンカイ（鎮海）の多元主義的協調論
“there was some discourse on twitter regarding the chinggisids (the immediate family and descendants of genghis khan) being portrayed as somewhat cute, while being violent conquerors in real life, but i would argue that through sitara’s justified anger at her circumstances the show actively prompts you to confront this contradiction! because in real life, and in real history, people often happen to be both”
Twitterでは、チンギス・カンの直系一族や子孫であるチンギス統原理の人々が、現実には暴力的な征服者だったのに、作品内では少し可愛らしく描かれていることについて議論があった。
でも自分は、シタラが置かれた境遇に対する正当な怒りを通して、この作品はその矛盾と向き合うよう視聴者に促していると思う！
なぜなら現実でも、そして実際の歴史でも、人間はしばしばその両方であり得るからだ。
このコメントは、モンゴル帝国初期に重用された学者・高官であるチンカイ（鎮海）の「多元主義的協調論」に通じています。
チンカイは、ウイグルやケレイトといった非遊牧定住文化の視点を持ち、道教、仏教、イスラームなど異なる宗教や知識人を保護し、調停する役割を担った人物です。
彼の実践は、単一の価値観で世界を裁くのではなく、矛盾する文化や人間像を同じ社会の中で調整しようとするものでした。
『天幕のジャードゥーガル』第4幕でも、モンゴル側の人々は単なる野蛮な侵略者としては描かれていません。
トルイは素朴で家族思いな面を見せ、ソルコクタニは知識を求める聡明な人物として描かれます。
しかし同時に、彼らの存在はシタラの人生を壊した帝国の中枢でもあります。
優しさと暴力、知性と支配、家族愛と征服。
それらが一人の人間や一つの社会の中に同時に存在してしまうことを、この作品はシタラの怒りを通して突きつけています。
チンカイ的な多元主義の視点で見るなら、ここで描かれているのは「どちらが本当の姿か」ではありません。
むしろ、人間と歴史は常に複数の顔を持ち、その矛盾を見ないふりすることなく受け止める必要がある、ということなのです。
「憎しみは、失った人々との最後の絆なのか」ルーミーの愛と喪失の哲学
“Similarly I love how a series that is ultimately about Sitara seeking revenge on the Mongols continues to show that all the people involved are fundamentally just regular people who can be kind to others and love their families. It makes Sitara having to constantly remind herself of what they took from her and focus on her hatred hit even harder for me. Ultimately she kind of *has* to hate them or she feels like she’s doing a disservice to the people they took from her and she’ll truly have nothing left.”
同じように、この作品は最終的にはシタラがモンゴル人へ復讐しようとする物語なのに、関わる人々が根本的には普通の人間で、他人に優しくできたり家族を愛したりできる存在として描かれ続けているところが好きだ。
だからこそ、シタラが自分から奪われたものを常に思い出し、憎しみに意識を向け続けなければならないことが、より重く響く。
結局、彼女は彼らを憎まなければならないようなものなんだ。
そうしなければ、奪われた人々に対して不義理をしているように感じてしまうし、本当に何も残らなくなってしまうから。
このコメントは、13世紀を代表するペルシア語イスラーム神秘主義の詩人・思想家であるジャラール・アッディーン・ルーミーの哲学と深く響き合います。
ルーミーは、モンゴル帝国によるペルシア侵攻の時代を生き、戦火を逃れてアナトリアへ移った人物でもあります。
彼の思想では、愛する存在との別離や喪失の痛みは、単なる苦しみではありません。
むしろ、その痛みを内面に抱き続けることによって、失われた存在との精神的な結びつきが保たれると考えられます。
シタラにとって、モンゴルへの憎しみは単なる敵意ではありません。
それはファーティマやトゥースの人々、奪われた家族と自分をつなぎ止める最後の糸でもあります。
もし彼女が憎しみを手放してしまえば、自分だけが生き延び、死者たちを忘れてしまったように感じるのでしょう。
だからシタラは、モンゴルの人々に優しさや愛情があることを見せられるほど、なおさら自分の怒りを思い出さなければならない。
ルーミーの思想において愛と痛みが切り離せないように、シタラにとって喪失と憎しみもまた切り離せません。
第4幕の痛ましさは、復讐が悪であるとか正義であるとかいう単純な話ではなく、憎しみすら失った人々への愛の形になってしまうところにあるのです。
まとめと感想
『天幕のジャードゥーガル』第4幕「炉の主（オッチギン）」は、静かに時間が流れていく一方で、シタラの内側にある憎しみと喪失がより重くのしかかる回でした。
トルイの正妃ソルコクタニのもとで「原論」の指南役となり、表向きは従順な側近を演じるシタラ。
その姿は、復讐のために自分を押し殺して生きる少女の痛々しさそのものでした。
海外の反応でも、8年という時間経過への驚き、チンギス・カンの崩御とオゴタイの即位による政治的変化、そしてソルコクタニがシタラに密偵を命じる展開への戸惑いが多く見られました。
また、イスラム文化とモンゴル文化の違いを丁寧に描く部分や、征服者たちを単なる悪として描かない人間的な視点にも、多くの考察が寄せられていました。
シタラは帝国を憎まなければならない。
けれど、その帝国の中にも知性や愛情や優しさを持つ人々がいる。
その矛盾に触れながらも、彼女は奪われたものを忘れないために怒りを抱き続けるしかありません。
密偵として動くことになったシタラが、これからどのように帝国の中心へ近づいていくのか。
そして「原論」を取り戻す日は来るのか。
